Early Childhood Specialist
At Little Steps Development, our Early Childhood Specialists are qualified teachers who take a holistic, strengths-based approach to supporting young children’s development.
We offer flexible, responsive support across a variety of settings—whether in your home, at preschool or school or out in the community.
Using playful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate strategies, our team makes learning meaningful and fun. With a deep understanding of how children grow, learn, and interact with their environments, our educators can guide both families and fellow professionals in building children’s confidence, independence, and participation.
We also work closely with early learning and school teams to embed inclusive strategies that support your child’s success in group environments.
Our approach is rooted in everyday life—we help families build skills within daily routines, because we know the most impactful learning happens in real moments. Our goal is to empower you with practical, achievable strategies to support your child’s growth and development at home and beyond.
Hi, I’m Emilee, the founder of Little Steps Development.
I believe play is a child’s natural way of learning. Through play, children explore, create, and engage with the world around them. Since 2010, I have supported children in their Early years, helping them learn and grow through the power of play. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education, and am currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy to further my personal and professional skills and to strengthen the services I can offer. I understand first hand the importance of creating safe and engaging spaces where children can express themselves and thrive. I enjoy providing opportunities for children to explore through sensory play, creative and expressive play. Understanding a child's way of learning is the only way to fully engage with them.
